The 2000 Calendar Saga

On ‎Saturday, ‎25th ‎February, ‎2023, at 6:00am, Neptune Henriksen uploaded a video to the short-form video hosting service, TikTkok.

In the 90-second short, they detailed feverishly searching the internet for several hours for a calendar, of 2000, with the New South Wales school terms (and school holidays) displayed. This was followed by another video seven (7) hours later, that was not very related, as they were sleep deprived and losing their sense of reality.

However, after some rest, at 5:30am on Sunday 26th February, 2023, they followed up with an additional video, attempting to further clarify the various methods they’d employed, and the resource they were tyring to find had to be 1. A Calendar; 2. Of The Year 2000; 3. With New South Wales School Terms included.

In the 90-second short, they also further outlined their loss of grip on both mental stability, and physical reality, as they delved deeper and deeper down rabbit holes, which included: sources for Victorian State school terms, articles mentioning New South Wales 2000 spring school holidays only, and countless calendars without any school terms, or with university terms.

Thankfully, by the mercy of some kind of higher being, at around 4:00am on Monday, 27th February, 2023, they checked the comments with trepidation, to find that one studious user had indeed found an archive of a now inactive, Department of Education and Training New South Wales website, which included a table with the school term dates. This archived website was under des.nsw.gov.au, not the later det.nsw.gov.au, or the current education.nsw.gov.au.

With some cross-referencing and source-checking, Neptune was able to verify this source, as a government website, and converted that data to following four spreadsheets:

  1. 2000 Calendar with New South Wales School terms for Eastern Division - in Pink, because queer

  2. 2000 Calendar with New South Wales School terms for Western Division - in Pink, because queer

  3. 2000 Calendar with New South Wales School terms for Eastern Division - in greyscale, for colourblind accessibility (and maybe people who hate pink, sad)

  4. 2000 Calendar with New South Wales School terms for Western Division - in greyscale, for colourblind accessibility (and maybe people who hate pink, sad)

These spreadsheets are free to view and download, and are available free of charge for non-commercial use and reference. These are not free for commercial use. Anyone wishing to licence these for commercial use, can contact Neptune via the contact form.
